It is light yellow to dark brown in color and is thick oil. Patchouli oil is extracted from the young leaves which are dried and fermented prior to steam distillation and yields 2 - 3 %.
This oil improves with age to have a fuller, more well rounded odor.
It is basically used in Acne, athlete's foot, chapped skin, dermatitis, eczema, fatigue, frigidity, hair care, insect repellant, mature skin, oily skin, stress.
It has a very Rich, earthy, woody aroma with a nearly hidden fruity note.
